Summer Reading Documents and Materials- below are the documents students received before leaving for summer vacation. They have been available on the M.S 180 Library Weebly since June. There are no exceptions for assignments that are not submitted by Monday September 9th.

Monthly VocabularyEach month 707 and 709 will study 10 target vocabulary words . The goal is not only to internalize the spelling of the words but their definitions and how they can be used to create effective sentences. There will be one homework assignment per week and one test at the end of the month. In addition, students will be expected to use this vocabulary effectively in their writing and class discussions. These homework assignments will be checked once a week or biweekly. Homework Line-up Week 1 - Spelling Practice - Each word 5x each Week 2 - Search for the definitions of each word using a dictionary or dictionary application. Include the part of speech ( verb, noun, adjective, adverb) . Select the two most common definitions Week 3 - use each word in a sentence that explains its meaning Week 4 - Use all 10 words in a paragraph about a topic of your choice.
